ÖSS'den yeterli puanı alamadıysanız veya bir bölüme yerleştirilememişseniz üzülmeyin, 2007-2008 için bu şart kaldırıldı.

Yüksek Öğrenim Kurumu, 24 Temmuz 2006 tarihinde yaptığı açıklama ile Avustralya, Yeni Zelanda, Kanada ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri vb. ülkelerde eğitim kurumunun tanınması şartıyla öğrencilerin ÖSS'den ilgili alanda barajı geçme şartını kaldırdı.

2007-2008 öğretim yılında kendi imkanlarıyla Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, Avustralya, Yeni Zelanda, Kanada, AB’ye üye ve aday olan ülkeler ile Avrupa Ekonomik Alanına üye olan ülkeler (İzlanda, Lihtenşayn, Norveç,İsviçre)  yurtdışında yükseköğrenim görmek isteyenlerin diploma denklik başvurularının değerlendirilebilmesi için 2007-ÖSS'ye girmeleri ve önlisans programları için ilgili puan türünde barajı aşma şartı aranmayacaktır.Konu ile ilgili olarak 2007 ÖSYS Yükseköğretim Programları ve Kontenjanları Kılavuzu'nun 157.sayfasında yer alan duyurular bölümünde detaylı açıklama yapılmaktadır:
